EMBERFALL

A block survival game with erupting volcanoes, machines, sailing ships and a second world of floating islands.

About the game

You start somewhere on a big, mostly ocean world with nothing, and work your way up from there.

There are 14 biomes, each with its own stone and trees. Volcanoes erupt every so often, and you can watch it happen. Weather comes in fronts, so you'll see a storm building before it hits. Villages have people who work during the day and sleep at night, and you can trade with them. At night the hostile mobs come out.

Later on you can build water wheels and windmills and run machines off them, build a galleon and sail it, or build an ember gate and go to the Emberfall. You can play on your own or host a game for friends.

Machines

Coming in 0.2.0

Put a water wheel in a river, connect a shaft to it and you can run a millstone or a saw off it. From there it gets as big as you want: belts, chutes, mechanical arms, crafters that make things for you, a steam engine if you need more power.

Overload a line and the weakest part breaks. Anything you build on a bearing turns with it, and you can ride it. Hang drills off a rope pulley and they'll dig a quarry on their own.

Boats

Coming in 0.2.0

Most of the world is sea, so you'll need a boat eventually. Sails go by the wind. You can't sail straight into it, but you can sail close to it and tack your way upwind.

The galleon is 28 blocks long with a gun deck, a hold for twelve chests and a crow's nest. Cannons break blocks and put holes in boats. You can see each hole, and patch it with planks.

The Barrow, a giant built of the arena's own stone, raising a fist

The Barrow

The first boss. It sits on an altar in an arena, and when you use a soul shard on it, it builds a body out of the arena's floor and walls and gets up.

It slams the ground and sends a shockwave across the floor, stomps, and throws boulders. When it dies it falls apart into the blocks it was made of.

It's still early

Emberfall is an early version, so expect bugs. If you run into any, please report them in #bug-reports so I can fix them.

And a big thank you to everyone who's been following along, testing and giving feedback. It really means a lot, and the game wouldn't be where it is without you.
